Meet Atlas! My Hawk :D

So this is Atlas, my male Harris Hawk who hatched this year. I got him today from a Master Falconer who trained me and is the only master falconer here in Quebec. This fella was raised by his parents, only had I believe 2 hours of human contact when he was a baby chick. Surprisingly, this fella was scared at first, but after an hour of my presence being around him, he calmed down a lot and started to get adjusted with me being around him. For a few months before, I had troubles on what to name my bird, after a while I was stuck on the name Atlas, and glad I stuck with it Reason being is because Atlas is a world map, and birds are all over the world, they get around easily by flight. Atlas was just the perfect name for this guy.

In this photo, you can tell that he isn't in his Mew(pen), reason is because I decided to place his jesses on him since he was already in his box, so it was a good opportunity to grab him without causing him tons of stress and put his gear on. I do have to say that he I am very please to get this bird, he is very curious of the things I was doing while tied up to his perch lol.

Hopefully when I start training him, it won't be as stressful for the bird knowing that he's already calm around me.
